Description

Bard College Berlin, A Liberal Arts University, is now accepting applications for a full-time (40 hr/week) position as “Administrative Assistant for College Affairs.” The selected candidate will help ensure the smooth functioning of the institution by providing administrative support in a number of key areas. These range from general reception to human resources and administrative assistance to the University Leadership (Managing Director, Dean, Associate Dean).
Specific duties will include:
- "Front office" tasks such as welcoming guests to the College, setting up meeting rooms, and responding to general phone calls and email inquiries
- Event coordination
- Scheduling, emailing and assistance with documents for the University Leadership
- Organizing and servicing meetings, including producing agendas and taking minutes
- Promoting job openings and assisting in selection processes; other clerical work related to human resources
- Making travel arrangements
- Maintaining and distributing office supplies
- Receiving and sorting incoming and outgoing mail, including student mail
- General office tasks
Required qualifications:
- Good communication, customer service and relationship-building skills
- Fluency in both English and German
- BA degree
- Teamworking skills
- Organization and time management skills, attention to detail
- Flexibility
- Tact, discretion and diplomacy
- Ability to be proactive use your own initiative to solve problems
- Ability in or willingness to learn standard software and platforms
- Valid German work permit
- Interest in working with a highly international group of students, staff and guests to the college
